At some point during the night, the ship moved from swaying softly into full on rocking. Mom and I were up first this morning and had a lovely breakfast in Triton’s.

Off to Azure for Bingo! Jenny from England is super entertaining! While I got to stand for one of the games, none of us ended up winning anything. (Interestingly, a couple from Lubbock won two games and a couple from Miami won the other two. Maybe next time it will be our turn to win multiple games!)
Eve hadn’t had breakfast yet, so she and Mom went to track down some food. However, it was that weird time between breakfast and lunch where it was either pool food or pastries at the coffee shop. She grabbed a tiny cinnamon roll to hold her over until we could meet up for lunch.
I attended the Anyone Can Cook session in the D-Lounge with Dominique Filoni, the Chef at Toppollino’s at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

He made a Panzanelle salad while giving tips and tricks for in the kitchen. If your basil is starting to look a little puny, blanch it – it will make it green and pretty and extend the life a day or two. He’s going to be offering several sessions throughout the cruise.

We met at the Crown and Fin Pub for a rousing round of Muppets Trivia. We did pretty well – but still no medal for us.

Then on to lunch at Tiana’s. Mom and I were both brave and tried the beef and lamb Kafka burger! Yum! The meet was nice and moist, the pepper and onion relish was tangy, and who knew babbaganush made a lovely dip for fries?

After lunch, we moved to the French Quarter Lounge for Skipbo.

Our games were interrupted by several rounds of trivia. Disney Cruise Line trivia (pretty good), Disney Side Kick trivia (so close!) and Disney Movie Quote trivia (we had fun…).

True fact: Mom and I missed the same question on Disney Side Kick trivia that we had missed on the DIsney Wish in January – what do the initials for WallE’s friend MO stand for? We’re working hard at learning Microbe Obliterator. It feels like this question will come up again! The lounge is lovely – we found great tables in the street car for playing games – and they serve fancy coffee!

After a bit of shopping, Eve went to find a porthole to hang out in while Mom and I went to see the show.

Before the show, the ship’s steering committee were all introduced. The Captain warned us that tomorrow was going to continue to be rocky, if not a little worse as the wind is expected to pick up. We’re fine with the ride – hopefully our fellow cruisers are doing well, too.
The Golden Mickeys have been updated a little since the last time we saw it. Towards the end, the house lights suddenly came up. The stage elevator had caught a trap door and forced it up a couple of inches so the stage was no longer flat. The techs came out and (I kid you not!) the first thing they tried was just hitting it with a hammer. While that by itself didn’t work, they were able to get the stage repaired in just a few minutes and the show went on (albeit without the elevator trap door!).
From one show to another! Dinner tonight is Animator’s Palette! Mom had a Mickey bar for dessert!

Last night Benjamin had told us we had a great table for the show and he wasn’t kidding!

Eve went back to start putting together the laundry bag for tomorrow (they’re offering a special, everything in the bag up to 30 pieces for $25 and we’re taking them up on it). Mom and I stayed in the atrium for Storytime with Uncle, who’s from Aulani. He started with the Aulani luau song, then told a story about a man who was being tricked by the Menehune. It was a fun ending to a great first day at sea!
