Sea Day 4 – September 27, 2024

We were all up early – the clocks falling back an hour for three nights in a row on top of the two hour change we had to get to Seattle has our bodies still a little confused. The nice thing is that we’ll have a late night tonight, so hopefully that will help everything regulate.  Cabanas was all that was open for breakfast as early as we were up, so it was our restaurant of choice!  We circled deck 10 a couple of times to enjoy the view while getting some steps in. Again today they were practicing for pirate night. And we saw some metal boxes being unloaded up on the roof of Palo at the back of the ship – from the location, we’re hoping it’s fireworks!  There hasn’t been any mention of fireworks in the Navigator, but maybe?

Eve and I grabbed drinks at the Cove Cafe (I had a lovely pumpkin pie chai latte – and a cranberry bliss bar!).

I headed down to the atrium to get in line for the Mickey and Friends photo.  Even getting there 30 minutes early, I was quite a ways back in line. We did have some excitement – we saw a whale spout!

Once the gang was there, the assembly line started and it moved quickly. Mom and Eve decided to watch from above.

BINGO!  Well, the game, not the win. But Jenn was full of her Dad jokes.  Did you know it’s against the law to laugh in a high pitch in Hawaii?  But A-Low-Ha is ok!  After Bingo, we started to Deck 9, but along the way got sidetracked by the Spirits and Spirits game in the French Quarter. The host would read a question and you had to stand on the Yes or No side, depending upon your answer. (Ex. Are Miss Piggy and Yoda voiced by the same actor?) Eve was better at it than I was – but neither one of us did well.  We continued up to Deck 9 and sat outside Cabanas to play games, until the smell overcame us and we broke for lunch. (German day – yum!)

After lunch, it was back down to the Crown and Fin Pub for Broadway Musical Trivia.  While we didn’t do well, the sing-alongs during the answer section were epic!  We shared a pretzel and stayed playing games until it was time for Theme Park Trivia-Level 1. While we had a respectable outing, it wasn’t one of our best games.

We finished in time to hear Uncle from Aulani tell a tale of Maui and his magical fishhook in the Atrium. We learned that in Hawaii, the constellation Scorpio is called Maui’s Fishhook. We enjoyed some down time in our stateroom before going separate ways for dinner. Eve decided to have chicken tenders and fries while watching part of Muppet Treasure Island, but Mom and I went to have dinner in Animator’s Palette.  The new (to us) Pirate menu was a hit! Cheddar cheese soup, Prime Rib and pretzel bread!  Javier told us that he was getting to go watch the Pirate Party tonight since it’s his first cruise.

On the way to dinner, we stopped to admire the sunset.

I tried to take a panoramic picture from the ship. That doesn’t work when you’re at sea…

We met up with Eve on deck 10 and even getting there 30 minutes early we were too late to get a spot on the front railing.  That’s ok – we could see well-enough from our spot along the back rail, and we could definitely hear the party! We ended up behind the gentlemen from Aulani, who were having a wonderful time.

Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale all started us off with a bunch of fun party music, but then Hook’s crew took over (and their musical taste ran more to rock party music).

But Mickey came in to save the day and set off fireworks for us!! Woohoo!!

Knowing Mickey was back in control of the ship, we were able to sleep soundly tonight!
