We woke to the ship pulling into La Paz. This is an unusual port. Before the cruise we had looked and didn’t find anything that sounded really interesting on the excursions, so had thought we would just wander the port area. However, upon embarkation in LA, there was a note in our room selling city transfers for today. The town is about a 30 minute drive from the port, and the beach is near the town. So, we decided to make it a faux-sea day! And after seeing the port, we felt like it was a really good call.

That’s it. The port of La Paz.
Actually, I did run ashore for 5-10 minutes. They had about 10 vendors set up with the usual Mexican port souvenirs – except this one gentleman, he sold the prettiest abalone-inlayed items, really unique and beautiful. Otherwise, we spent the day playing games in various places, depending on the sun and temperature. We had a light lunch at the buffet because we wanted to be really hungry for dinner.
The view from the back of the ship while in port. (And today’s towel animal!)

All aboard was 4:30 and we were underway shortly thereafter. The pilot boat here is TINY!! It looks like a little fishing skiff.

Sunset was 5:04, so we had a bonus with that during sail-away!

We had a great dinner at Guy’s Pig and Anchor. The barbecue is all smoked on board and they have a working brewery. We shared the trash can nachos for an appetizer. Mom had the barbecue chicken and I enjoyed the jalapeño and cheddar sausage.

We were so full, we barely had room for ice cream and cookies from the buffet afterwards!
After such a busy day, we turned in early. Tomorrow’s another big day!
