My Passport’s Travels

Michelle’s Adventures

Puerto Vallarta January 16, 2025

Another lovely, lazy morning! Today is towel animal morning at the pool! It happens once per cruise on Carnival!

We had a late morning snack at the buffet, then enjoyed the view of Puerto Vallarta while playing games.

We went to the Cucina del Capitano for the pasta bar lunch (pick your pasta, sauce and extras items). Then it was time to head ashore for our excursion. Look! There’s our room!

We walked to the other side of the port, meeting a new friend along the way.

Then we boarded our boat for the hour long boat ride to Las Caletas. We enjoyed great views and very weak margaritas on the ride.

And some whales!

At the venue, we were seated at a lovely table, where we enjoyed the buffet (and I had a good margarita). Musicians wandered through the area and candles everywhere made it especially beautiful.

After dinner, we moved to the theater for the show: Rhythms of the Night. It’s kind of a Cirque du Soleil -style show with acrobats, dancers, live musicians. The gentleman who balanced on rolling tubes was amazing! And I particularly loved the hand shadow puppet section.

After the show, we made our way back to the boat for a rowdy ride back. We grabbed seats towards the back, out of the way. Back on land, we hurried to the ship since it was already past all aboard time (but not only did we book through Carnival, evidently this excursion is always late getting back). Thankfully we docked just down the pier from the Panorama. Mom and I were officially the last two passengers back on board before sailing away. Seriously – by the time we made it up the elevators to our room, the ship had set sail. We weren’t quite ready to call it a night, so we grabbed a snack from the buffet before heading to bed.
